A weight loss plan that involves eating more and skipping fewer meals sounds kinda unbelievable. Like calorie-free cupcakes. But actually, it's totally legit! (Not the calorie-free cupcake part. Unfortunately, those have yet to be invented! :P ) According to a new research out of the University of Missouri, eating breakfast can help you slim down.
The key, according to the study, is to eat a breakfast that is high in protein. For example egg whites or yogurt. Or Belgian waffles made with protein powder, which is what the subjects in the study ate. (Belgian waffles can help you lose weight? Sign us up!) Basically, there's something in protein which helps reducing the signals your brain fires off that make you reach for snacks. So you’re less likely to engage in poor eating habits in the rest of the day.
So, if you're trying to lose weight and keep it off, never skip breakfast! :)
