Chanel Cruise 2012 Collection

The beachy background of the Hotel du Cap on the French Riviera's Antibes was the ideal setting for a sea of bright sunny yellow suits, black and white color-blocked maillots (many of which were worn with coordinating top hats) and other light summer separates in classic pinstripes, all courtesy of mastermind Karl Lagerfeld.

Inspired by Rita Hayworth and Aly Khan, the married movie star and royal socialite who once frequented the halls of Hotel du Cap, Chanel Cruise 2012 looks were decked out in real diamonds and pearls and took spectators to just about every high-class jetsetter destination; from the beach to society events.

Not my favorite to be quite honest, I think the materials were lovely, but the idea of how I see it, black vs white was executed very poorly and the designs lack that edge I always look for in every piece going down a runway.

Good post though (:

The designs are ok but why not adding some colour?
Ok black is classic but its summer who wants to wear black and white? :S
Karl Lagerfeld can do better than this...

Yeah adding some color would have been nice! An entire black vs white collection maybe was too much.. I like it though! elegant and classy ;)
